Removing Google Chrome AutoFill suggestions

I could have sworn I wrote about this years ago. When I looked for it the other day, however, I couldn’t find it, so here goes. I love the fact that Google Chrome has combined the search and address bars into one cohesive unit. While it does, on occasion, mean that I search when I mean to enter an address, that is preferable to having that piece of monitor real estate split into two.

It happens, on occasion, that I want to remove a search term from my search history. It happens rarely enough that I usually have to look it up, and it is time for it to be documented her, as well. Here’s how:

  • iPhone: When the search term pops up, swipe left and click “Delete”
  • Windows: Enter the search term, then hit Shift+Delete
  • Mac: Shift+FN+Delete
