Adding external recipients in Exchange

A few weeks ago, we looked at groups in Exchange. Sometimes, you need to be able to add external recipients, too. Here’s how we create those:

  1. Open your Microsoft Exchange console
  2. Browse to Recipient Configuration > Mail Contact
  3. In the right-hand pane, click “New Mail Contact”:

  4. Go through the Wizard, specifying the OU as appropriate. The address should be in the format SMTP:recipient@domain.tld:
